This is a local campaign of combined villages (Aston Ingham, Linton, Kilcot, and Gorsley) to protect our countryside and landscape. Affiliated to CPRE

Initially this campaign was set up to oppose a local proposal to set up two wind turbines on Beavans Hill located within the boundaries of Withymoor Farm situated just outside Aston Crews in Herefordshire.
It was then found that this proposal was part of a strategy planned by a Company called GreenAmps run by Mr. Nick Brown. He had written to a number of Farm owners in Gloucestershire offering to pay them £7,000 per turbine for the rental of their land in order to provide electricity to the Electrical Power Generators. Due to the peculiar post coding of this area he was mistaken in thinking that Withymoor Farm was in Gloucestershire whereas it is in Herefordshire. An initial meeting with the local population was then held in Gorsley but this was not in the correct Parish as the site is in fact in Aston Ingham. We are still waiting for the meeting in Aston Ingham to be arranged and the Aston Ingham Parish Council are waiting for the Planning Application promised some 12 months ago.

In the meantime we, South Herefordshire SOS (Save Our Scenery), have widened our scope to promote other forms of energy saving and CO2 emission reduction and are producing fortnightly, a Newsletter, which is circulated to the local population that may be affected by the wind turbines. So far we issue approximately 300 Newsletters every month.

We also liase with other groups pursuing the same goal of keeping our landscape free from intrusive energy systems. If you know of other Groups or are part of one, please contact us through Jane & Martin Bradney at HVAC@aol.com or leave your details on this Blog.

Further updates will follow shortly.
